PhD student on sodium-metal batteries with solid electrolytes

to perform research as part of a five-year BattFutur project funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). At GER, we strive to obtain a deeper understanding of interfacial thermodynamics with a focus on wetting and phase change phenomena. We aim to use these insights to enhance the performance and reduce cost of energy conversion processes, including electrochemical and thermal storage.

What we offer:

  • Fundamental and application-driven projects that will allow you to make a strong contribution to the research community and the society

  • Outstanding support and guidance on your way to becoming an independent researcher

  • Experimental and modeling experience that will give you a comprehensive research portfolio
