Dr. Gustav Graeber
Gustav Graeber studied Mechanical Engineering at TU Berlin, where he earned his B.Sc., before completing his M.Sc. at RWTH Aachen University. He then pursued a PhD at ETH Zurich, followed by postdoctoral research at the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Empa) from 2019 to 2021 and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) from 2021 to 2023. In March 2023, he joined Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin as a research group leader, where he now leads the Graeber Lab for Energy Research in the Department of Chemistry. His team focuses on developing energy storage solutions that are safe, sustainable, and high-performing, with particular emphasis on sodium batteries and solid electrolytes. More recently, he has also taken on a guest researcher position at the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM), where he investigates safety in energy storage applications.
