Nicholas McEniry

Nicholas joined GER in January 2026 as a doctoral candidate with BAM and HU. He earned his M.Eng (Chemical) and B.Sc (Chemical Systems) from the University of Melbourne, Australia. He has undertaken 3 years of industry work experience, working in Process Safety and Risk consulting at Arup and as a Gas Operations Engineer at Jemena, controlling and operating Australia’s eastern gas transmission network. Alongside various internships, most notably, working at Australia’s national laboratory (CSIRO) and as a metallurgy vacation student at a gold mine (Evolution Mining). He has a passion for process safety and using process modelling and simulation to improve safety outcomes. He is working towards developing a digital twin of solid-state sodium sulfur batteries in his doctoral research topic drawing on the expertise of the group.
