Dr. Suchita Kandpal

Suchita joined the GER lab in May 2026 as a postdoctoral researcher under the Adolf Martens Fellowship in collaboration with the Bundesanstalt für Materialforschung und -prüfung (BAM). She earned her Ph.D. in Physics from the Indian Institute of Technology Indore (India) in 2023, where she worked on electrochromic devices for energy-saving and energy-storage applications using 2D layered materials. She subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher at Cornell University (USA), focusing on rechargeable aluminum-ion batteries with an emphasis on charge-transfer mechanisms and electrode-electrolyte interfacial stability. Her expertise includes materials synthesis and advanced electrochemical and structural characterization. Her current work focuses on sulfur-rich cathodes for near-ambient sodium-sulfur batteries.
